Nintendo Switch "Bundle" Problems - Personal Rant
I'm excited for the Nintendo Switch. I'm going to be getting it as soon as it becomes available with the tax refund I was given and I'm eager to see where this goes. However, while I was browsing for the new game console on Gamestop's website, I find that there were several bundles that came with the game I wanted, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and they also came with two games that I am not sure I want to play along with, those being the new Splatoon and something else that I cannot currently remember the name of without going to the website.
Either way, it drives up the price a considerable deal out of my ability to comfortably afford it. I did not see another bundle that was just the Nintendo Switch, and Breath of the Wild. This frustrates me, because all I want right now is Zelda and the new Mario game, along with whatever else is going to be coming to the system given time that interests me, potentially the new Metroid game and Kirby game that come for the system as well. I am also interested in the Gamecube Virtual Console, provided that it's not a false confirmation that I've found and that people are simply hyped over nothing. Playing on my Gamecube is out of my realm of possibility as of right now and I want to play Gamecube games again, as that console has some of my personal favorites.
I'm going to go into Gamestop tomorrow to see if they can simply offer me a bundle with Legend of Zelda on its own, putting the price at 349.99 or whatever and making it easily affordable to me as of right now. If that isn't the case, then I'll just preorder the console and Breath of the Wild and get the preorder perks for both the game and the console as well and be done with it from there. It won't be a bundle and won't come with the super perks, but I really don't care about the ultra perks that come with taking a huge stack of starter games, most of which I'm not going to bother playing. A game library only is worth considering for me if I'm consistently playing the games or have an intent to come back to the game at some point.
I know that this is strictly personal and opinionated for me, but I felt like making a statement about it. I would like to buy a bundle that isn't strictly $449.99 and not use half of what I get out of the bundle when it's that much. I'll see if I can't get a follow-up afterward. More gaming ideas and thoughts coming tomorrow when I have time to think them up and write them.
