Ori Sequel? More like nonsense...

So I started going through looking for what Moon Studio is going to do next with Ori, or what game they're doing next. Ori and the Blind Forest is my personal favorite game of all time, so I am eager to see what Moon Studios produces next and whether they can match something so beautiful and well done with another game that they choose to release. Well, there were talks of a movie, but that was two years ago now...then half a year ago, approaching on a full year ago...there was talk of a sequel, apparently. "Ori and the Will of the Wisps". A title just as intriguing as "Ori and the Blind Forest", to be sure, but upon going through the links, looking for the full stories and what not...there's nothing to be found.

Either they were elaborate April Fool's jokes done far too early, or they were simply never meant to be in the first place. I haven't heard anything from Moon Studio, though I am certain they are working on something so far. I just don't know what, and it's frustrating to think that people are trying and searching for things about Ori and a sequel. While I would be overjoyed at a sequel, I would also be wishing for less of it and more of something original. Leave Ori as it is, perhaps develop it in another medium, or better yet, approach Ori and the Blind Forest from a different character's perspective? I was hopeful for a movie, so I guess we'll see. Maybe E3 this year has something going on that will tell us whether Ori and the Blind Forest will get continued upon or it will be something else entirely.

As for me, myself, personally...I would prefer something like a movie, or something else from this game studio, trying another platformer but with different mechanics or a different approach, with the same love and care that was poured into Ori. That being the case, Ori and the Blind Forest proved so popular and beloved among those that it appealed to that a sequel may not be out of the question and probably isn't out of the question. If there is a sequel, I expect the same love and care to be shown to it as with Ori, and that much more "amazing" out of the game. Ori and the Blind Forest caught me off guard...I don't know if they can take the same thing and do it twice. If they can, they might just make me a believer in the idea that true gems are still possible in a day and age where gaming has started falling to the mediocre.

So far, like I said, no evidence has actually surfaced. There are rumors zipping to and fro, but like all internet rumors, without evidence, there is nothing to support them. They're just rumors on the wind, hopefuls seeking support. If more evidence comes through, however, I may come back to comment on it. And if a reveal comes, I'm most definitely going to spaz out, and be crying tears of joy more than likely because I'll just be so happy to see another Ori game. If there's a movie...even better.

Now to get back to speedrunning Ori and the Blind Forest, I suppose, while I wait for something more.
